Hip-hop choreographer Shane Sparks held a huge bash to celebrate his birthday and Albert Lawrence of Talk of Fame was there to cover the event for us. (Thanks, Albert!) Here’s a video clip where Shane and his friends talk bout how they met and all the good things going on for him these days:

Dirty Dancing is Now Casting
There will be an open casting call in Los Angeles for people who want to be a part of a hot new dance competition based on the hit movie Dirty Dancing. The show, from Lionsgate & the producers of Hell’s Kitchen is looking for new and fresh dnacers to play Johnny & Baby.
The show is seeking dancers of all styles who appear to be between the ages of 21 & 27. They are looking for 18 dancers, 9 men and 9 women who will pair up and compete together. The open casting call is July 2, 2008 and here’s how you can attend.
There will be casting calls in Chicago, New York and Miami soon, so be sure to check back for the details!
Janet Jackson’s Prodigy Now Casting
Janet Jackson and famed choreographer Gil Duldulao will be kicking off a nationwide search for performers with raw talent. This competition reality TV series is open to males and females at least 18 years old who appear to be between 18 and 22 and who exhibit superior talent in combined singing and dancing. Here’s how you can apply.
One of this season’s So You Think You Can Dance finalists is Joshua Allen. Here’s a video clip of him teaching a hip-hop class. He’s terrific!!

Here’s a continuation of my quest to find out what’s happening with former contestants from So You Think You Can Dance. This is a recent dance choregraphed by Benji Scwimmer’s SYTYCD partner and finalist, Donyelle Jones. I think the music is an interesting choice, but the dance she created is terrific!! Check it out!

I was sad to see both Chelsea Traille and Chris Jarosz get eliminated this week. Chelsea just seems to bring a sparkle to the dance floor when she dances and Chris just seems so eager and happy to be dancing. It’s a joy to watch them both!

Now each of their partners will have to adjust to a new partner for next week’s competition. It should be interesting to see how well they both do with the extra challenge.
Now the final 14 are left to face off for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. I love the personalities of “Twitchington,” aka Twitch and Kherington and the sheer talent of Will.

America’s Best Dance Crew has had many celebrities come to watch its taping each week and the first episode of season 2 is no exception. None other than Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas was there and he revealed that he’s a fan of Jabbawockeez. (And who isn’t, right?)
